Leah Hess

With a background in chemistry and engineering, science communication, and climate tech investment, Leah draws on a dynamic blend of technical expertise and storytelling skills to support organizations driving the transition to a low-carbon economy.

Before joining DG+, Leah earned her Master’s in Molecular Engineering with a concentration in Materials for Sustainability from the University of Chicago. Most recently, she explored emerging climate technologies at Rev Innovations, an innovation firm focused on advancing low-carbon energy solutions. She’s also proud of her work at GTI Energy, where she shaped an organization-wide impact strategy, and at the Change Climate Project, where she drove research efforts to integrate Science-Based Targets into a corporate carbon management platform for clients.

Leah is currently based in Chicago, Illinois and spends her free time going to concerts, running, exploring new creative hobbies, and spending time with her cat, Whiskey.
